Janacek & Kodaly: Piano Music

Klára Würtz releases her fourth album for Piano Classics, performing music by Janácek and Kódaly, music closely related to the landscape, folklore and soul in their countries of origin. Janácek's suites "In the Mist" and "On an Overgrown Path" contain miniatures of the most heartbreaking intimacy, from deep sorrow and melancholy to utter bliss and joy. In the works of Kódaly, there is a direct and palpable connection with the folk music of Hungary and Transylvania. Klára Würtz, Hungarian by birth, knows the secret language of this music and her musical intuition finds the most telling melodic inflections in this speaking music.
