While overshadowed by the piano concertos of Mozart during the 1780s, composer Leopold Kozeluch was holding his own as a master of the piano sonata, performing in Vienna’s most renowned private concert soirees. The four works on this release show why his sonatas might be called the pinnacle of the high-Classic style.
